Madison officials are laying out what they want to see in the development of land that includes the former Oscar Meyer headquarters. They released the Oscar Meyer Strategic Assessment Report which outlines some goals for the area. Some of the objectives stated in that report are to provide a high density of good-paying jobs, maintain the cost of nearby housing, take advantage of existing infrastructure, develop a transportation system, and use tools like tax incremental financing to increase density and tax base. These objectives were formed from public input and a 13-person committee.
