The man who shot randomly at cars on the interstate near Wisconsin Dells was given more time in a mental health facility.
Zachary Hays was given a 15 year commitment to a mental health institution after pleading no contest to 2 counts of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, according to court records. The court found Hays not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
The charges were filed in Columbia County Circuit Court after police say Hays shot at cars on I-90 in Columbia and Sauk Counties in 2016, killing one woman.
Hays is already serving 40 years in a mental health center for the Sauk County case that killed Tracy Czaczkowski.
