Dane County officials said they’ll be working to convince lawmakers to approve a $30 million investment to the Alliant Energy Center since the state building commission rejected their capital budget recommendation.
Chair of the Dane County Board Sharon Corrigan said she’s disappointed Republican lawmakers refused to recommend Gov. Evers $30 million investment to the Joint Finance Committee. The investment would fund the expansion of the Alliant Energy Center to the Exposition Hall.
The committee will still receive all of Evers 82 recommendations but it won’t include any input from the building commission. Corrigan said they will now invest time to lobby for their project to be approved over dozens of others.
