UPDATE (WKOW) — A contractor working outside a home along State Highway 81 spotted flames coming from the house and called 911, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office says. The home’s top floor is destroyed, but much of the home is untouched, deputies say. Firefighters believe an electrical problem caused the fire.
UPDATE (WKOW) — All east and westbound lanes of State Highway 81 are closed between Mill Pond Road and County Road H due to the structure fire, according to a notification from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
ORFORDVILLE (WKOW) — Multiple fire departments are responding to a fire just west of Beloit on Highway 81.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office dispatched the Orfordville Fire Department just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to 7518 West Highway 81 for a structure fire.
Shortly thereafter Orfordville put out an active still alarm, asking for additional units from other departments to respond. Departments as far away as Stoughton sent help.
Rock County dispatchers said no injuries had been reported.
