TOWN OF EMMET (WKOW) — Authorities say a boy has life threatening injuries after an ATV crash in Dodge County this weekend.
According to sheriff’s officials, a 48-year-old Watertown man was driving the ATV on Highway M in the town of Emmet with a 9-year-old Rio boy riding as a passenger.
Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday the driver lost control of the ATV in an intersection. The vehicle rolled and the two people were thrown from it. Authorities say alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The Watertown man is in the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The boy has life threatening injuries and was flown to a hospital in Madison to be treated, according to investigators.
Authorities with Dodge County and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are still investigating the incident.
