MONROE (WKOW) — A Monroe man is accused of physically abusing a 5-month-old child.
Skylar James Martin, 25, from Monroe, is facing one felony count of child abuse-recklessly causing great harm after allegedly growing frustrated with a screaming child and fracturing its skull, according to a criminal complaint.
Green County Human Services reported the injuries to the Green County Sheriff’s Office. A detective from the sheriff’s office, as well as a social worker, investigated the injuries on March 14.
The child’s mother told authorities she noticed the injuries after the child had been in the care of Martin, her husband, according to the complaint.
The baby allegedly had bruising around its left temple, redding in the left eye and a fractured skull, the complaint said.
Multiple witnesses told authorities they saw Martin getting frustrated with the baby’s crying the day the injuries were found.
