TOWNSHIP OF DELTON (WKOW) — A 7-year-old girl is dead after she was hit by a truck in the Jellystone camping area Sunday morning, according to Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriffs officials say deputies were called to the Jellystone Camp-Resort just before 10:30 a.m. for a traffic accident involving a truck and pedestrian.
A pickup truck being driven by a 76-year-old man was traveling through the camping area. As the truck approached a hill in the roadway it hit the 7-year-old, who was in the roadway, according to sheriffs officials.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver was not hurt. Sheriffs officials say speed does not appear to be a factor in the incident.
The accident remains under investigation. No names are being released at this time.
