UPDATE (WKOW) — Madison police say Wednesday’s shooting on State Street has been ruled accidental.
Investigators say a woman got into an SUV and a gun went off. She was hit in the chest and taken to the hospital. Officers say she is in stable condition.
Police initially detained the driver of the SUV, who they have identified as Francis Kimani. After questioning, Kimani was arrested and is now facing a charge of injury by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon.
