JANESVILLE (WKOW) — One person has died and another was injured in a crash Tuesday morning on southbound I-39 near Janesville.
The Wisconsin State Patrol Communications Center received a report about 5 a.m. Aug. 20 of a multi-vehicle crash at the mile post 177 on I-39.
A semi was traveling southbound when it was struck from the rear by a Ford F350 pickup truck.
The Ford continued driving until it became disabled in the left lane.
Moments later, the Ford was struck from behind by a Chevy Silverado.
This second crash created complete blockage of both southbound lanes.
The driver of the Silverado, a 23-year-old man from Milton, suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 34-year-old man from Madison, sustain minor injuries.
Names of those involved with not be released at this time until family notification is made.
