Judge Doyle Square project hits roadblock

MADISON (WKOW) — Another blow for the Judge Doyle Square project in Madison.

Monday night, the Finance Committee recommended terminating negotiations with the developer chosen for part of the project due to “complications”,reported the Wisconsin State Journal.

Gebhardt Development was picked in June to build the mixed-use building over the parking garage on the Madison municipal block. Several proposals were made that would have ended up costing the city more than originally planned.

Now, the committee wants the city to use Stone House Development for the project, the negotiating team’s original choice.

A final vote on the Finance Committee’s latest recommendation will happen at a City Council meeting in September.
