(Milwaukee, WI) -- A Milwaukee police officer is on leave as the department looks into how he shot the wrong man after a weekend car chase. MPD commanders say the chase happened early yesterday morning near North 26th Street and West Auer. It ended when the driver crashed into a police car. The driver then ran into a nearby home, the officer followed. That's when commanders say the officer shot a man standing near the suspect. The officer says he thought the suspect was drawing a weapon. Milwaukee police are looking into the shooting.
