Madison police today announced an arrest in a series of recent stranger attacks against women in the downtown area.
Police Chief Mike Koval, in a Wednesday morning news conference, credited witness statements with allowing police to pull the pieces together and narrow in on their suspect.
Luis Ruiz-Ugalde, 26, was arrested Monday night and is currently in the Dane County Jail facing charges of second degree sexual assault of a child, burglary and also is being held on an immigration detainer, according to jail records.
Koval said Ruiz-Ugalde is connected with at least four attacks, according to Koval.
