Rock County medical examiner identifies Whitewater man killed

The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office released the name of the man Thursday killed in a Wednesday hit-and-run near Janesville.

Fifty-nine-year-old Whitewater resident Michael L. Bacon was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a release from the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy confirmed Bacon died from injuries he received in the crash.

The driver, Branko Jovanovic, 29, of Lyons, Illinois and his attorney met detectives at the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and he was subsequently arrested for Hit and Run causing death.
