Beloit substitute teacher facing drug charges

BELOIT (WKOW) — A substitute teacher is facing drug charges after an investigation by Beloit police.

Police conducted a drug-related investigation today in a parking lot in the 1700 block of Madison Road.

They arrested Percival Smith, 42, and Laura Smith, 41.

Percival Smith is a permanent substitute teacher and football coach at McNeel Intermediate School. Police say he’s facing charges, including party to a crime possession of heroin with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A spokeswoman for the City of Beloit says the school district is cooperating with the investigation.
