The School District of Milton released a statement Thursday saying a group of students formed an offensive symbol on a gymnasium floor earlier in the week.
“The School District of Milton is aware of an incident that occurred on Monday morning involving several students, who formed an offensive symbol on the gym floor,” the district said. Milton schools did not immediately specify how many students were involved, what the symbol was or in which school the incident occurred.
“We are unable to share further details due to our responsibility to protect student confidentiality,” the district said. “However, please know that we take this issue very seriously.”
The district said it investigated the incident and addressed the students involved “in accordance with our policies.”
