One person was killed after being hit by a car while walking on a highway in Madison Monday night.
It happened about 7 p.m. just past I-39/90 on Highway 18 near Ho Chunk Gaming.
Police arrested Shaun Jones, 37, after the crash. They say he was driving with a revoked license.
He was jailed on tentative charges, including tampering with an ignition interlock device. That device measures a person’s alcohol level and blocks a car from being turned on if alcohol use is detected.
Jones is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
Police have not released the victim’s name.
