Snow to slow you down heading out the door

MADISON (WKOW) – Dane, Green, Jefferson, Lafayette, Rock and Walworth Counties are under a winter weather advisory til noon.

TODAY

Snow will wrap up from NW to SE through the morning, tapering early in the afternoon for areas southeast of Madison.

Make sure to slow down & keep the headlights on driving int he snow this morning.

Snow totals will be highest south of Madison with 2-4 inches. 1-2 inches for central areas and 0-1″ far north.

TONIGHT

A dominant area of high pressure system ushers in Arctic air and more near record cold by Tuesday morning.

Temps will dip to the upper single digits with wind chills around or sub-zero!

Record low for tomorrow morning is 7° set in 1986.

TUESDAY

After a near record cold start, temps will only get to the upper teens later in the afternoon, though it will be sunny.

WEDNESDAY

Staying very cold by your midweek with temps around 10° early in the morning before only getting to the mid 20s later in the afternoon.

Another round of light snow will move in late-day and overnight with a trace up to two inches expected.
