Not guilty verdict in Rock County homicide

Jurors determined a man charged in a Rock County homicide case is not guilty.

Jacob Davenport was acquitted of first degree intentional homicide, according to theJanesville Gazette.

Davenport was charged in the death of James Tomten. Authorities said Davenport shot Tomten during a drug deal in Beloit in February of 2019.

Davenport was arrested about two months later in Texas and wasextradited to Wisconsinto face trial.

Jurors returned the verdict Friday evening after a weeklong trial.
