Middleton selects new police chief

The Middleton Police Commission announced who would take over as the community's law enforcement chief.

A press release from the city administrator announced Middleton Police Captain Troy Hellenbrand would replace retired Chief of Police Chuck Foulke.

"The Police Commission was impressed by all three finalists," Police Commission Chair Paul Kinne said. " It speaks volumes about the caliber of the Middleton Police Department to attract such an impressive applicant pool."

Kinne called Hellenbrand "highly qualified," citing the captain's more than 20 years of experience with the department.
