The Madison Metropolitan School District on Monday approved the contract for Dr. Matthew Gutiérrez as the next Superintendent of Schools.
The two-year contract for Gutiérrez begins June 1, 2020 and runs through May 31, 2022. Gutiérrez will be paid $250,000 in the first year. In his second year, the contract states Gutierrez shall receive at least a two-percent annual salary increase over the prior year's total annual salary.
Gutiérrez is currently the superintendent of the Seguin Independent School District in Seguin, Texas.
He previously served as deputy superintendent with the Plano Independent School District with 54,000 students and before that as an interim superintendent and human resources director in the Little Elm Independent School District.
