One arrested after stabbing in Dodgeville

A Fennimore man has been arrested after an altercation between two men led to a stabbing.

Jesse J. Kopp, 36 of Fennimore, faces possible charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated battery, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dodgeville police received a complaint about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday about a possible stabbing.

Officers arrived at the scene on South Iowa Street and found that a 43-year-old man who had been wouned in the altercation.

Kopp and the victim knew each other and there is no evidence of ongoing danger to the public, according to a Dodgville Police Department news release.

The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are possible. The Dodgeville Police Department was assisted by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodgeville Area Ambulance Service.
