Driver rescued after SUV crashes into Mirror Lake

UPDATE (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin State Patrol says the driver of an SUV that crashed into Mirror Lake Wednesday evening was rescued, taken to the hospital and arrested for an OWI.

Troopers say around 5:20 p.m., they received multiple complaints about an SUV driving erratically. Witnesses reported the SUV had gone off the roadway and crashed into a barrier and sign.

Minutes later, one witness told the State Patrol the SUV had gone off the road before the Mirror Lake bridge and crashed into the lake.

Troopers say the driver was rescued and taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The driver was also arrested for a first offense OWI.

The Sauk County Highway Department and a towing company removed the SUV from the lake.
