ALCS student downgraded to critical condition

MADISON (WKOW) — An Abundant Life Christian School student who was hurt in a deadly shooting at the school in December 2024 remains hospitalized and is back in critical condition, according to UW Health.

“The remaining patient who has been cared for at American Family Children’s Hospital following the Abundant Life Christian School shooting is again in critical condition. The family continues to request privacy at this time,” UW Health said in a statement.

A 15-year-old student shot eight people at ALCS on Dec. 16, 2024. A staff member and student died. Six other people were hurt: five students and one teacher.

The teacher and four students who were hurt have been released from the hospital.
