Brewers Steal Series From Padres with 2-1 Win

The Brewers are missing many key pieces but were able to beat the Padres twice in three games to steal a series in San Diego. The series concluded with a 2-1 Brewers win on Wednesday afternoon.

Aaron Ashby went 5 ⅔ innings, struck out five Padres and allowed just one run. The Padres scored on a fielder’s choice ground out in the 5th inning. Perdomo, Boxberger and Williams combined to hold the Padres scoreless for the rest of the game, leading to the Brewers victory.

The runs for the Brewers came in the 7th inning when Rowdy Tellez hit an RBI double to tie the game at one. That was followed by a sacrifice fly by Tyrone Taylor, who now has 11 RBI in his last 6 games.

The Brewers improved to 28-16 on the season. The road trip continues for Milwaukee as the Brewers travel to St. Louis for a four-game series starting on Thursday. That will be followed by a four-game series in Chicago against the Cubs.
