Brewers bring Miller home

The Brewers have acquired utility infielder Owen Miller from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for a player to be named or cash.

Miller, a third-round draft choice of the San Diego Padres in 2018, was traded to Cleveland in 2020 and made his Major League debut the following season.

Miller is a Mequon native and Ozaukee High School alumnus who played collegiately at Illinois State before turning pro. He has played all over the infield, but primarily at first and second base. Last season, Miller hit .243 with 51 RBI’s for the Guardians in 130 games played.

To make room on the 40-man roster, catcher Mario Feliciano has been designated for assignment. Feliciano played briefly with the Brewers in each of the last two seasons, but never developed as the team projected he would, making him expendable.

Miller joins a crowded infield already consisting of Rowdy Tellez, Abraham Toro, Luis Urías, Willy Adames, Brice Turang, Keston Hiura and Mike Brosseau.
