Brewers Earn Third Straight Win with 5-1 Victory over Reds

For the first time since mid-April, the Milwaukee Brewers have won a series on the road. They clinched it with a 5-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday afternoon.

Adrian Houser pitched seven innings and allowed just one run. On offense, Milwaukee scored early and set the tone. After being called up just over a week ago, Andruw Monasterio hit a three-run home run in the first inning to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead. It was the first career home run for Monasterio after nine years in the minors.

Victor Caratini later hit a solo home run and Owen Miller had an RBI single that gave the Brewers a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning.

The Reds scratched a run across in the seventh inning with a solo home run by Jake Fraley, but that was it. Milwaukee won 5-1. Listen below to the postgame show from Sunday.

The Brewers will go for the four-game series sweep at 6:10pm on Monday night in Cincinnati. Listen to the Baseball Postgame Show with Tim Allen after the game on 97.3 The Game in Milwaukee and the iHeart Radio App.
