Public school funds flowing into growing private school voucher program

Funds for the public school system in Madison are being impacted by the growing private school voucher program. Each year, more and more private schools are opting into the voucher program. Families are using loopholes in the law to take advantage of these programs. Some of these loopholes include families sending their child to public school for as little as one day just to be considered eligible for the voucher. When combined, these actions are redirecting millions of tax dollars designated for public schools to private schools.
