Green County officials continue search for missing woman

GREEN COUNTY (WKOW) -- Green County Sheriff's Office staff are still searching for Melissa Trumpy, who was reported missing October 28.

According to a news release from Green County, deputies have conducted a search of her home in Monticello, as well as areas she was known to frequent. Investigators have also interviewed anyone known to be in contact with Trumpy prior to her disappearance. Police are also looking into her phone, social media and financial records in an effort to find activity that would lead to her current location.

Along with continuously searching rural areas they have access too, some sheriff's department personnel are canvassing Carroll and Stephenson counties in Illinois.

"To leave no stone unturned, we would ask Green County residents that own rural properties, particularly from Monroe to the south to check their properties for anything that is suspicious or out of the ordinary and to report any findings to the Green County Sheriff’s Office at (608)328-9401," Sheriff Jeff Skatrud said in the release.

Trumpy stands 5'10", with long blonde hair, blue eyes and facial piercings.
