Madison officials warn of traffic on John Nolen Drive during projects

MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- Starting Monday morning, one of downtown Madison's busiest thoroughfares will be reduced to one lane in each direction due to construction.

At 6 a.m., city officials say parts of John Nolen Drive will be blocked off as crews work on several projects within the Monona Terrace tunnel. That includes storm water piping replacement and fire alarm electrical work. As well as concrete repairs.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction at all times, which could result in daily peak-hour traffic congestion.

The work is expected to be done by Friday, Dec. 22. In the meantime, officials ask that you use an alternate route or plan for extra travel time.
