TOWN OF DEWHURST, Wis. (WAOW) — Nine people are dead after a crash in central Wisconsin, according to authorities.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office reports a semi was headed east on State Highway 95 in the Town of Dewhurst, about 50 miles southeast of Eau Claire. At the same time, a van was headed north on County Highway J. As the van entered the intersection, the semi hit it.
Clark County Sheriff's Office said in a news release:
Preliminary reports indicate that there was a semi-tractor and trailer traveling eastbound on STH 95 approaching the intersection of CTH J. As the semi-tractor was approaching the intersection, a van was driving northbound on CTH J. The van continued northbound, entered the intersection, and was struck by the semi traveling eastbound, the post continued.
