(WKOW) -- The semi driver who died in the crash that killed eight other people is from Rewey, Wisconsin.
The collision between the semi and a van happened Friday morning in the Township of Dewhurst.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office says it’s believed the semi was going east on State Highway 95 and the van was northbound on County Highway J. Officials say the van entered the intersection and was hit by the semi on its driver’s side.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the semi was 51-year-old Daniel Liddicoat of Rewey, Wisconsin. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner.
Nine people were in the van. Eight of them died. They range in age from 6 months to 46 years old. The sole survivor is a 2-year-old boy, who was released from the hospital to the care of his grandparents.
