ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- A judge on Thursday ordered an inpatient evaluation for a 20-year-old charged with the murder of an 8-year-old family member.
Rock County authorities accuse Dayveon Lathrop of killing his adopted sister and hiding her corpse. He is charged with first-degree intentional homicide.
The child was found inside a home in the Town of Fulton in March. A detective found the girl's body inside a storage tote in the laundry room.
According to court documents, a forensic pathologist autopsied the girl's body and found multiple stab wounds.
The forensic pathologist said those wounds are consistent with a tactical style knife authorities found.
A review hearing in the case is scheduled for May 10.
