Woman arrested after stabbing near bar in Fitchburg early Friday morning

FITCHBURG, Wis. (WKOW) -- Fitchburg police arrested a 37-year-old Madison woman early Friday morning after she allegedly stabbed another woman, leaving her with a significant but non-life-threatening wound. 

The altercation happened around 1:47 a.m. near Monkeyshines Bar and Grill on McKee Road. Officers located the victim, 39, in the parking lot, and provided aid to her until paramedics arrived and transported her to a hospital. 

Officers stopped the suspect as she left the scene in an SUV, and located the weapon believed to be involved with the incident.  

Capt. Edward Hartwick suggested that Laquate White armed herself with an edged weapon after an altercation began in the parking lot. 

White was arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail on tentative charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery, and disorderly conduct while armed. 

Dane County deputies and Verona police assisted.
