Man wanted in connection to fatal car crash in Columbia Co

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- Police are looking for a man wanted in connection to a car crash that left a woman dead Sunday night.

Around 11:08 p.m., the Columbia County Sheriff's Office was notified of a crash in the Town of Lewiston. Upon arriving, deputies, fire, and EMS discovered that the driver had fled the scene.

The only passenger in the vehicle was a 21-year-old woman from rural Portage. She was found entrapped in the passenger seat.

Deputies searched the area with a thermal drone and with K9s, but were unable to find the driver.

Keegin Neveln, 26, is believed to be the driver. Neveln is also from Portage. Capt. David Clark said there is probable cause to arrest Neveln on felony charges related to his involvement in the crash.

Anyone with knowledge of Neveln's whereabouts can contact the Columbia County Sheriff's Office at 608-742-4166 or submit a tip through Columbia County Crimestoppers at WWW.P3TIPS.COM/1175 or by calling 1-800-293-TIPS. Tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.

Anyone assisting with evading law enforcement may be arrested and charged with a felony. Police said one person has already been taken into custody for their involvement in helping Neveln flee the crash.
