MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Police Department says the missing boy who was the subject of an AMBER Alert late Thursday night has been found safe and the man he was with is in custody.
The alert went out around 11 p.m. Thursday for 1-year-old Mateo Mendoza. Authorities said he had been forcibly taken by 28-year-old Matthew Stewart.
Around 11:50 p.m., the Madison Police Department said Mendoza had been found and is unharmed.
Stewart was taken into custody. Police say charges are pending.
