JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) — A Janesville man was sentenced Tuesday for killing a 22-year-old woman who was found dead on Peace Trail last April.
Logan Barclay previously pleaded guilty to first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Kiersten Hansen.
A criminal complaint stated two walkers found her body on April 17, 2024. Detectives said she was shot in the stomach.
Investigators learned the woman was last known to be with Barclay, her on-again, off-again boyfriend with whom she shared a child. They said he changed his story several times until he admitted to killing her.
He told police they were taking a walk and he snapped while they were talking about her being pregnant for a second time. He shot her in the stomach and walked away.
Barclay was sentenced to life in prison for the crime, per Wisconsin law.
At sentencing Tuesday, a judge ruled that Barclay will have a chance for parole after serving at least 50 years.
