Clouds will increase today ahead of a quick burst of heavy snow that arrives late this afternoon into this evening. During this initial wave, total accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected. Slick roads are likely during the evening commute, so plan accordingly.
By Saturday, additional periods of snow will swing through, producing another 2 to 4 inches through the day. The snow showers will taper off early Sunday morning, leading to clearing skies as the day progresses. After that, arctic air moves into the region early next week.
