Teens arrested in Madison for assault and robbery on south side

MADISON (WKOW) — Three teenagers have been arrested following an assault and robbery on Madison's south side.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours on Tuesday on the 700 block of Diving Hawk Trail, according to a Madison Police Department report.

The suspects, Zion L. Mather-Fox, 18, Tony K. Caldwell, 17, and Daequan D. Lewis, 17, were apprehended after police said they pistol-whipped and robbed a woman. Officers responded around 12:40 a.m. after the woman was attacked inside an acquaintance's car.

The suspects stole the victim’s phone and money, police said. They were later found driving on Verona Road, leading to a high-risk traffic stop at Williamsburg Way and South Whitney Way. The Fitchburg Police Department assisted in the stop and subsequent investigation.

A gun, reported stolen, and a sword were recovered from the vehicle, along with the victim's property.

Mather-Fox was arrested for armed robbery - party to a crime. Caldwell was arrested for armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon. Lewis was arrested for armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm, battery and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.

All three teenagers were taken to the Dane County Jail.
